Pinedale Nordic Ski Grooming Report, December 15
by Bob Barrett, Pinedale Ski Education Foundation
December 14, 2009
In cooperation with Pinedale Ranger District, the Pinedale Ski Education Foundation is again this year grooming Skyline Drive from the upper Fremont Lake Overlook to Elkhart Park. We measured 18" of snow at Elkhart on Monday so coverage over the 3 1/2 mile distance is good. A parking area is available to all-wheel drive vehicles one mile beyond the White Pine turnoff. Snowmobilers can continue to use Skyline Drive to reach Elkhart Park; however, the road is barricaded to discourage wheeled vehicles beyond the parking area at the overlook. Grooming on Skyline Drive is temporary until adequate snowfall is received on the lower trail system along Skyline Drive. Limited grooming at the CCC Ponds Pathway will also begin this week.
Nordic ski trail grooming by the Pinedale Ski Education Foundation is funded through the Sublette County Recreation Board.
