Stop the Secrecy
OPINION Health Care debate should be open to public view

Because we are a media source, we are extra sensitive to open government at all levels.
Why the secrecy over the health care debate? The health care legislation being discussed will significantly impact the lives and finances of every citizen in our country, yet the discussions are being done behind closed doors without allowing the media and public to be a part of them.
It is wrong for our legislators in power to bypass the public to push sweeping new regulations on our lives without allowing citizens to listen to the discussions or have input in the process.
It is bad government not to allow media representatives the opportunity to be present in all the rooms where the discussions are being held so the process is open and transparent to the public.
Personally, I am mad as hell at any elected official who is not taking a stand to challenge the powers that seek to exclude the public from the government’s decision-making process.
Stop the secrecy.
Congress: Allow the media and public full view of the health care discussions.
