February 24, 2010
The Pinedale Lions Club is excited to announce that they will be hosting the Harlem Ambassadors Basketball Show in Pinedale on Friday, March 19, 2010. This international touring organization provides an evening of high-flying slam dunks, hilarious comedy, and fun for the whole family. They have performed in 49 states and 19 countries, and are the largest entertainment provider to the United States Military worldwide. Performers are all former college players and the team includes both female and male stars.
Proceeds from this community event will benefit the Pinedale Special Olympics program. The Pinedale Lions Club is proud to support local coordinator Brandy Ackland and her team of recent winter medalists and looks forward to assisting as this important program grows.
Volunteers will be selling raffle tickets for a ball autographed by the Ambassadors, and a free autograph session will follow the game. Concessions will be available.
Our local challenging team will include some of the county’s finest volunteers, our firefighters, and EMT’s. Cowboy humorist Andy Nelson will be among those wearing stripes, guaranteeing a "pretty darn fair" game. Please contact Lion Randy Belton if you have a "burning" desire to help entertain your community.
In addition to the 7:00 pm public show in the Wrangler Gym, the Lions have also arranged for the Ambassadors to host an afternoon assembly at the Pinedale Middle School. Principal Kevan Kennington is happy to offer this "Stay in School, Stay off Drugs" themed program to students as a fun end to a busy testing week.
Tickets will be sold in advance at various locations including Rock Rabbit, Big J Auto Parts, and the Bank of Sublette County.
Ticket Prices: Kids 5 and under: Free Students/Seniors: $5 in advance and $7 at the door (if available) Adults: $8 in advance and $10 at the door (if available)
