Historical Society holds Spring Thaw Party March 4
At the Museum of the Mountain Man

The Sublette County Historical Society will be holding their annual meeting on Thursday, March 4th at the Museum of the Mountain Man. The historical society will elect new officers and hold a short business meeting.
Special guest speaker will be Barton Barbour, author of the book "Jedediah Smith: No Ordinary Mountain Man" which came out in April, 2009.
There will also be a special presentation debut of the original fur trade papers recently acquired by the Historical Society from an auction in New York. With financial help of the Sublette County Commissioners, Sublette County was able to acquire an impressive collection of original documents and letters by William Sublette, Robert Campbell, Thomas Fitzpatrick, John Jacob Astor, William Ashley, Jedediah Smith, Nathaniel Wyeth, Lucien Fontenelle, William Drummond Stewart, and other prominent figures of the Rocky Mountain fur trade of the early 1800s. These original documents will be housed at the Museum of the Mountain Man. The public will have an opportunity to see some of these documents at the annual meeting.
Refreshments will be served. The meeting starts at 6:00 p.m. at the Museum of the Mountain Man in Pinedale. Everyone welcome.
