Forty Wyoming wolves died in 2009

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service reports the following for wolf mortalities outside of national parks in Wyoming in 2009:

"In 2009, 40 wolves (15% of the total population) were known to have died in WY. Causes of mortality included: agency control = 31 (77% of all documented mortality); unknown or under law enforcement investigation = 7 (18%); and natural = 2 (5%)."
