A local chapter of the Wyoming Archaeological Society is being formed in Sublette County. The new Sublette County Chapter of the Wyoming Archaeological Society (SCCWAS) had their first organizational meeting at the Spring Thaw Party at the Museum of the Mountain Man on March 4th. Approximately 75 people have given their names and phone numbers as interested in joining. Everyone is welcome. There are no membership eligibility requirements other than an interest in the archaeology of the Upper Green River Valley. Amateurs and professionals of all ages are welcome. Annual membership dues are $20 for an Individual and $25 for Family. Members receive a copy of The Wyoming Archaeologist, published twice a year. The Sublette County Chapter plans field trips, guest speakers and social events.
SCCWAS organizers need mailing addresses and contact e-mails for the people who are interested in joining this new chapter of the Wyoming Archaeological Society. Anyone who is interested in joining is asked to please e-mail with your contact information so organizers can send further information out to you. Even if you already signed up on the general list earlier, please e-mail with your name, mailing address, and phone: was@sublette.com so organizers can compile a complete contact list.
