About 50 Republicans showed up for the GOP Precinct Caucuses Tuesday night in the County Commissioners' Meeting Room at the County Courthouse, in what started out to be a standing room only event.
After introductory comments by GOP County Chairman Cat Urbigkit, those attending were broken up into groups by the precincts that they lived in. Delegates and Alternates were elected for the GOP County Convention, with each precinct electing its own delegates and alternates. Also, by-laws changes, and platform changes were submitted and discussed. Two candidates who have announced their intention to run for House District 22 on the GOP ticket, Bill Winney and Emmett Mavy, both attended the caucuses. The next event in the County GOP will be the GOP County Convention to be held on Saturday, March 20 at 10 AM in the Sublette County Courthouse in Pinedale. Although any registered Republican in Sublette County could fully participate and vote in the caucuses Tuesday night, only elected Delegates (and possibly Alternates if a Delegate does not show up) can vote in the County Convention
