BIG PINEY – Forest Supervisor Kniffy Hamilton of the Bridger-Teton National Forest welcomes Kurt Davis as the new Big Piney District Ranger. Davis comes to Wyoming from the Gifford Pinchot National Forest in Washington where he was the Forest Vegetation Manager. Prior to that, he has worked for National Forests in Washington, Oregon and Utah in a variety of roles from District Ranger, Timber Operation Supervisor, Planning Team Leader, Civil Rights Staff Officer, and Forester.

Davis, who reported for duty on Monday May 24, is looking forward to expanding his knowledge and experience in forestry and multiple use management. He brings with him strong skills in leadership, communication, and forest management. "We are looking forward to working with Kurt on the Bridger-Teton. His experience and knowledge will be a great benefit to the resource." said Hamilton.

Davis earned his degree in Forestry Management from Alabama A&M University. He comes to Big Piney with his wife Richina Davis and two sets of twin boys Mason, Carmello, Kyle, and Keshawn. "I look forward to meeting and working with the community. I’m also looking forward to some of the great recreation this area has to offer like camping, hiking, fishing, and hunting." In his spare time Davis also enjoys coaching football and mentoring youth.
