Trumpeter Swans

These trumpeter swans were seen near Big Piney on Saturday. This very large bird was once close to extinction. Populations are now increasing and sightings in the Upper Green River Valley are more frequent. Its call is a low-pitched trumpeting. This bird does not breed until at least four years of age, so population replacement is slow.
