News9.com in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma posted a story on July 30th saying the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is considering a crackdown on farm dust. Many in the Oklahoma farming industry are opposed to the EPA's consideration. One farmer said the possible regulations are ridiculous.

On July 23, 2010, 21 senators, including Wyoming Senator John Barrasso, wrote a letter to Lisa Jackson, Administrator of the the EPA, conveying their concern over the EPA’s actions in the review of the National Ambient Air Quality Standards. The letter states the policy assessment for particulate matter would be extremely burdensome on farmers and livestock producers. "…if approved, would establish the most stringent and unparalleled regulation of dust in our nation’s history."
