Pig Wrestling

Sunday night, August 1st, the Annual Double D Pig Wrestling contest was held at the Sublette County Fairgrounds, one of this year's Sublette County Fair events.
Teams have one minute in a muddy arena to catch their pig and place it into the barrel. The categories are 8 and under, age 9-15, women and men. Pigs are sized for the contestants. Each team can have up to four people. Young children catch piglets. Older kids and women catch medium sized pigs. Big burly guys have to wrestle a hefty-size hog.
Prize is a jackpot of the entry fees, plus Calcutta earnings. There is also a prize for the team with the best costume.
This is a very popular event at the Fair, with many teams making it a tradition to attend year after year to vie for the prize money.
