The Garfield County, Colorado Board of County Commissioners requested a Health Impact Assessment be done looking at health impacts of natural gas development and production to the Battlement Mesa community. The Colorado School of Public Health conducted the assessment to look at quantitative and qualitative analysis of the environmental, exposure, health and safety data pertinent to the community. The HIA also provides baseline data for use in the design of a future prospective exposure and health monitoring project.
