Casper woman victim of fatal car crash

Wyoming Highway Patrol issued a notice of a fatal car crash on Monday, October 18th. According to the report, Lucinda D. Ashcraft, of Casper, Wyoming, died as a result of the accident.
Lucinda Ashcraft, age 39, was driving a 1996 Toyota 4Runner northbound on US 191 at around 5:30 a.m. approximately 15 miles south of Boulder in Sublette County (Milepost #72.9). For reasons unknown, she steered suddenly to the right over the fog line. She then over steered to the left, which caused her vehicle to go into a broadside slide going across the center line and off the roadway on the left side. The vehicle went into the barrow pit and then rolled one complete time, coming to rest on the right-of-way fence. Ashcraft was not wearing a seat belt, and during the rollover was totally ejected from the vehicle. She died at the scene. During the rollover the vehicle’s lights were disabled and the vehicle was not visible from the roadway during darkness. Shortly after 7:00 a.m. as it was starting to become light a passerby noticed the vehicle and notified law enforcement. Ashcraft was the only person and vehicle involved in this accident.
