‘Lion Tiger serves with pride’

October 18, 2010
The Pinedale Lions Club held their 2010 Annual Dinner at Half Moon Lake Resort on Thursday, October 14, 2010.
In addition to celebrating 34 years of service to their community, members chose to honor Lion Pat Schwab as the Lion of the Year for her involvement in many club activities. Lion Pat serves as the club secretary and chairs several committees including the Home & Garden Show and Eyeglass Collection.
Lion President Mindi Crabb gave the President’s Appreciation Award to Lion Sue Eversull for her years of donating time and cooking for so many fundraising events in Pinedale – Mindi says that "she is the epitome of the Lions motto – "We Serve"".
"Partner in Community Service" certificates were presented to Clint Gilchrist and Kristy Simms of Office Outlet and Dawn Ballou of Pinedale Online for their business’s efforts in assisting non-profits throughout Sublette County. Lion Randy Belton praised the long-standing assistance that both organizations have given to the Lions and others.
A special "Jumping in with All Four Paws" award went to Lion Jacque Strike for taking on the position of Treasurer just months after joining, and also for her work in developing a Leo Club for youth ages 12 to 18. This will be the only Leo Club in the state of Wyoming and will provide a great platform for youth wanting to help out in their community.
Lions of Wyoming District Governor Dave Orr traveled from Cheyenne to present two very exclusive awards. Lion Bruce Reed received a Silver Lion plaque in recognition of his more than 30 years of service to Lions Clubs International. Bruce has served and visited Lions Clubs around the world during his multiple careers and is currently the First Vice-President of the Pinedale Lions Club.
The highlight of the evening was a tribute to Lion Tiger Jaskolski for his 30 years of dedication to the Pinedale community through membership in the Lions Club. Lion Tiger was given a Gold Lion award by District Governor Orr; this was the result of a $1000 donation to the Lions of Wyoming Foundation in his honor by his fellow Lions. Lion Tiger has participated in more service activities than anyone could count and has organized the club’s biggest fundraiser, the Snowmobile Raffle, for all of its 21 years.
The Pinedale Lions Club looks forward to another rewarding year of community service and the excitement of implementing the first Leo Club in the state of Wyoming. New members are always welcome, as are suggestions for new projects. Contact any Pinedale Lion, or check them out on Facebook!
