U.S. District Court of Wyoming Judge Alan Johnson issued a ruling Thursday that the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service must take another look at Wyoming’s wolf management plan and reassess its decision not to delist wolves in Wyoming. Johnson ruled FWS was arbitrary and capricious in requiring that wolves in all of Wyoming be included in a trophy game classification rather than just "a portion of northwestern Wyoming."
Johnson remanded the issue back to FWS and ordered it "to revisit and consider issues specifically including but not limited to, whether the proposed size of the trophy game management area in northwestern Wyoming is sufficient to allow the state to meet and maintain recovery goals."
