After analysis in an Environmental Assessment (EA), the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Pinedale Field Office (PFO) has issued a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) and Decision Record (DR) for the Archer Construction, Inc. (Archer) expansion of the Binning Sand and Gravel Pit from 10 acres to 39.9 acres.

The expansion is located approximately three miles northwest of Pinedale. Ownership will transfer to Archer from Burleigh Binning once all of the necessary operation permits are granted. The BLM will retain management of the subsurface mineral.

Sand and gravel mining at the pit began in the early 1980s and is expected to continue until 2015. Once mining has concluded, the land will be reclaimed and sold as lots for homes.
