Sweet Harmony concert: ‘Simple Christmas Gifts’
by Dawn Ballou, Pinedale Online!
December 1, 2010
Local singing group, Sweet Harmony, gave the first of two holiday concerts to a full house on Wednesday, December 1st, in the Lovatt Room of the Pinedale Library.
The group, made up of present and past members, has been performing in Pinedale for 25 years. Present members performing this evening were Sharron Ziegler, Julie Konicek, Chris Cramer, Marianne Mrak, JJ Huntley, Melissa Bernard, Sue Holz, Sue Briggs, Laurie McClain and Candy Herda-Scott. The ladies took turns playing the piano for each song and singing. Sue Holz accompanied one song by playing the flute. Coralee and Fred Petersen provided additional accompaniment, with Coralee on the piano and Fred on cello.
Sue Eversull provided delectable desserts for refreshments.
The performance was free, with admission by a canned good donation to the Pinedale Food Basket.
There will be another concert on Sunday, December 5th at 3:00 PM in Pinedale.
Click here to hear two songs from the concert (please forgive the low resolution cell phone video!): Christmastide (4.45 MB mp4 file, 4:22) With accompaniment by Coralee Peterson on piano and Fred Peterson on cello. (Soft song, turn volume up) Silent Night (their traditional finale for 25 years) (4.01 MB mp4 file, 3:56)
