Trumpeter swans

Fremont Lake Swans Despite the frigid weather these five Trumpeter Swans were enjoying a good swim in the Fremont Lake condensation fog on Friday, December 31, 2010. Fremont Lake, nearly 700' deep, generally freezes about this time each year--and with our current frigid temperatures, there is every likelihood it will be frozen on January 1, 2011. The steaming clouds erupting from the lake today were awesome and I captured a good selection in my Winter Scenery Gallery-December 31, 2010.
