Coin Drive

Recently the Pinedale Afterschool Program hosted a coin drive at Pinedale Elementary School. We challenged the classes to raise money with coins. Altogether we raised $972.04, including a donation from the Sublette County Library and 1st Bank. Mrs. Calabro’s 5th grade class won and was awarded with a pizza party. They raised $229.82. The money raised with the coin drive was combined a State Farm Youth Service America grant to purchase books for local school book clubs and Mongolia 4-H book clubs. We spent time learning about Mongolia and designed bookmarks that we felt represented Wyoming to send with the books to Mongolia. We want to thank all of the students and families that participated in the coin drive as well as 1st Bank and the Sublette County Library for their support. We also want to thank State Farm and Youth Service America for the grant. We learned a lot in this project.
