FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH MONDAY MORNING FOR SMALL STREAMS AND CREEKS BELOW 9000 FEET.
COOLER AIR HAS PUSHED INTO FAR WEST WYOMING EARLY THIS MORNING AND SNOW LEVELS HAVE LOWERED TO NEAR 7000 FEET. ANOTHER ROUND OF SHOWERS AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS WAS HEADED NORTH ACROSS FAR WEST WYOMING EARLY THIS MORNING. SNOW WILL FALL ABOVE 7000 FEET WITH AN ADDITIONAL 0.10 TO 0.25 INCHES OF RAIN FALLING BELOW 7000 FEET THROUGH THIS MORNING. LOCATIONS BELOW 8000 FEET HAVE GENERALLY RECEIVED ONE HALF TO NEAR AN INCH OF RAINFALL SINCE EARLY SUNDAY MORNING. RAIN ON TOP OF LOW ELEVATION SNOWMELT WILL CONTINUE TO INCREASERUNOFF INTO SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS. SOME CREEKS AND STREAMS ARE EXPECTED BE NEAR BANKFULL CONDITION THROUGH THIS MORNING.

ANOTHER ROUND OF LIGHT TO MODERATE RAIN IS EXPECTED TO MOVE INTO FAR WESTERN WYOMING BY THIS AFTERNOON. AN ADDITIONAL 0.50 TO 0.75 INCHES OF RAINFALL IS EXPECTED TONIGHT. FAR WESTERN WYOMING HAS ALREADY HAD AROUND AN INCH TO AN INCH AND A HALF OF RAINFALL OVER THE LAST 24 TO 36 HOURS.
PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED TO BE MOSTLY RAIN AT ELEVATIONS BELOW 9000 FEET THROUGH THE AFTERNOON. SNOW LEVELS ARE EXPECTED TO DROP BELOW 8000 FEET BY SUNDAY NIGHT. THERE HAS ALSO BEEN ACTIVE SNOWMELT AT ELEVATIONS BELOW 9000 FEET IN THE PAST COUPLE OF DAYS.
RAIN ON TOP OF LOW ELEVATION SNOWMELT IS EXPECTED TO SHARPLY INCREASE RUNOFF INTO SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS. SOME CREEKS AND STREAMS ARE EXPECTED TO RISE TO NEAR BANKFULL CONDITION BY SUNDAY NIGHT INTO EARLY MONDAY MORNING.

A POTENT STORM SYSTEM IS EXPECTED TO IMPACT WESTERN AND CENTRAL WYOMING TODAY AND TONIGHT. AREAS OF HEAVY RAIN ARE POSSIBLE. RAIN ON TOP OF LOWER ELEVATION SNOWMELT IS EXPECTED TO SHARPLY INCREASE RUNOFF INTO SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS IN PORTIONS OF FAR WEST WYOMING AND POSSIBLY ACROSS NORTHERN PORTIONS OF WYOMING. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING ACROSS THE REGION...WITH LIGHTNING...HAIL...AND GUSTY WINDS BEING THE PRIMARY THREATS.

TUESDAY...THE STORM SYSTEM WILL CONTINUE TO IMPACT WEST AND CENTRAL WYOMING. SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL IS POSSIBLE OVER THE WESTERN AND NORTHERN MOUNTAINS.
FRIDAY THROUGH SUNDAY...UNSEASONABLY WARM TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO ACCELERATE THE MELTING OF MOUNTAIN SNOWPACK...SO AREA RIVERS AND STREAMS ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE RISING FOR THE MOST PART THROUGH NEXT WEEKEND.
SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT SPOTTERS ARE ASKED TO REPORT SNOWFALL TODAY AND TONIGHT...AS WELL AS ANY HAIL AND WIND GUSTS OVER 40 MPH FROM THUNDERSTORMS. SPOTTERS ARE ALSO ENCOURAGED TO REPORT ANY FLOODING.

New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. Monday Night: Rain showers likely before midnight, then snow showers likely. SNAKE/SALT RIVER BASIN
THERE HAVE BEEN MODERATE RISES IN RIVER FLOWS IN RESPONSE TO RAIN ON A GRADUAL SNOWMELT. RIVER FLOWS WILL DECREASE SOMEWHAT ON TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY DUE COOLING TEMPERATURES ACROSS THE BASIN. RIVER FLOWS WILL AGAIN INCREASE BY FRIDAY IN RESPONSE TO WARMING AFTERNOON TEMPERATURES ACROSS THE WATERSHED.
UPPER YELLOWSTONE BASIN
THERE HAVE BEEN MODERATE RISES IN RIVER FLOWS IN RESPONSE TO RAIN ON A GRADUAL SNOWMELT RIVER FLOWS WILL DECREASE SOMEWHAT ON TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY DUE COOLING TEMPERATURES ACROSS THE BASIN. RIVER FLOWS WILL AGAIN INCREASE BY FRIDAY IN RESPONSE TO WARMING AFTERNOON TEMPERATURES ACROSS THE WATERSHED.
SHOSHONE RIVER BASIN
CONTINUED MODERATE RISES IN FLOWS ARE EXPECTED MONDAY AND TUESDAY IN RESPONSE TO RAIN ON GRADUAL SNOWMELT. RIVER FLOWS WILL DECREASE ON WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY IN RESPONSE TO COOLER AFTERNOON TEMPERATURES ACROSS THE BASIN. RIVER FLOWS WILL AGAIN INCREASE BY FRIDAY IN RESPONSE TO WARMING AFTERNOON TEMPERATURES ACROSS THE WATERSHED.
UPPER GREEN RIVER BASIN
CONTINUED STEADY INCREASES IN RIVER FLOWS THROUGH MONDAY IN RESPONSE TO RAIN ON GRADUAL SNOWMELT. RIVER FLOWS WILL REMAIN FAIRLY STEADY ON TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY IN RESPONSE TO COOLER AFTERNOON MOUNTAIN TEMPERATURES ACROSS THE BASIN. STEADY INCREASES IN RIVER FLOWS ARE AGAIN EXPECTED BY FRIDAY AS TEMPERATURES AGAIN WARM UP IN THE MOUNTAINS ACROSS THE WATERSHED.
WIND RIVER BASIN
UPPER WIND BASIN CONTINUED STEADY INCREASES IN RIVER FLOWS THROUGH MONDAY IN RESPONSE TO A RAIN ON A GRADUAL SNOWMELT. RIVER FLOWS WILL REMAIN FAIRLY STEADY ON TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY IN RESPONSE TO COOLER AFTERNOON MOUNTAIN TEMPERATURES STEADY INCREASES IN RIVER FLOWS ARE AGAIN EXPECTED BY FRIDAY AS TEMPERATURES AGAIN WARM UP IN THE MOUNTAINS ACROSS THE WATERSHED.
LOWER WIND BASIN STEADY SLOW INCREASES IN RIVER FLOWS WILL CONTINUE THORUGH MONDAY IN RESPONSE TO A GRADUAL SNOWMELT. RAIN ON A GRADUAL SNOWMELT WILL CAUSE MODERATE INCREASES IN RIVER FLOWS ON TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY. RIVER FLOWS ARE EXPECTED TO INCREASE SIGNIFICANTLY BY FRIDAY IN RESPONSE TO WARMING AFTERNOON TEMPERATURES IN THE MOUNTAINS ACROSS THE WATERSHED.
BIG HORN BASIN
STEADY SLOW INCREASES IN RIVER FLOWS WILL CONTINUE THORUGH MONDAY IN RESPONSE TO A GRADUAL SNOWMELT. RAIN ON A GRADUAL SNOWMELT WILL CAUSE MODERATE INCREASES IN RIVER FLOWS ON TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY. RIVER FLOWS ARE EXPECTED TO INCREASE SIGNIFICANTLY BY FRIDAY IN RESPONSE TO WARMING AFTERNOON TEMPERATURES IN THE MOUNTAINS ACROSS THE WATERSHED.
POWDER RIVER BASIN
STEADY SLOW INCREASES IN RIVER FLOWS WILL CONTINUE THORUGH MONDAY IN RESPONSE TO A GRADUAL SNOWMELT. RAIN ON A GRADUAL SNOWMELT WILL CAUSE MODERATE INCREASES IN RIVER FLOWS ON TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY. RIVER FLOWS ARE EXPECTED TO INCREASE SIGNIFICANTLY BY FRIDAY IN RESPONSE TO WARMING AFTERNOON TEMPERATURES IN THE MOUNTAINS ACROSS THE WATERSHED.
LOWER NORTH PLATTE RIVER BASIN
RIVER FLOWS WILL REMAIN FAIRLY STEADY THROUGH TUESDAY. LOCAL INFLOW FROM RAINFALL AND SNOWMELT RUNOFF WILL INCREASE RIVER FLOWS SLIGHTLY BY LATE TUESDAY INTO EARLY WEDNESDAY. RIVER FLOWS WILL AGAIN BECOME FAIRLY STEADY BY THURDAY AND FRIDAY.
THE RIVER FLOW OUTLOOK FOR THE LOWER NORTH PLATTE RIVER IS HIGHLY CONTINGENT ON HOW MUCH THE USBR RELEASES FROM GRAY REEF RESERVOIR.
