American Mountain Man, Tony Powell, demonstrates how to start a fire the mountain-man way, using flint and steel, during Living History Days at the Museum of the Mountain Man in Pinedale on Tuesday.
Tony is one of eight AMM members who are in Pinedale for three days to give demonstrations and talks to school children from across western Wyoming.
Over 1,000 students are expected to attend from preschool age to 4th grade, including public and home-school students. Schools participating include Pinedale, Big Piney, LaBarge, Green River, Lyman, Lander, and Rock Springs.
The presentations are open to the public and anyone interested is encouraged to come up and visit with the mountain men. Thursday is the last day of Living History Days, and the Museum is open from 9AM to 5PM. (Sublette County residents get in for free!) MMMuseum.com
