Winter or Spring? Winter Or Spring--Your Choice. Photo by Dave Bell. Lots of snow There is a lot of snow in the mountains this year. Access into the Wind River Range will probably be several weeks later this year (mid to late July). This graph shows snow depth data at Elkhart Park comparing 2011 with 2010. NRCS graphic.

Dave Bell posted photos from his May Day outing. "Sunday, May 1, was really a pretty nice day, if you ignored the wind. Peg and I went for a little photo safari late in the day to enjoy the spectacular clouds and snow squalls passing down the Continental Divide. Happy May Day!"
