Join NY Times bestselling author and Himalayan expert Broughton Coburn for a lecture and slide show on Thursday, May 19 in the Lovatt Room at the Sublette County Library, 155 S Tyler Ave, 6:30PM. He will recount his experiences as part of a 2007 National Geographic research expedition to a series of human-excavated caves in the medieval Mustang region of northern Nepal.

Prior to this expedition discovering a bounty of pristine cultural treasures, the locals did not know much about these cliff dwellings because they were only accessible by rope. Some of the artifacts they discovered include a 14th century religious murals, ancient texts and archeological artifacts, possibly affirming the fictional paradise of Shangri-La.
