by Bureau of Land Management
June 23, 2011
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Pinedale Field Office (PFO) is issuing the environmental assessment (EA), finding of no significant impact (FONSI) and decision record (DR) for the 1,154 acre Camp Creek prescribed fire.
The Camp Creek prescribed fire is located within the 3,523 acre Camp Creek project area as part of the 9,000 acre Wyoming Front Aspen Restoration Project (WFARP) in Sublette and Lincoln counties. This is the third burn associated with the WFARP, a multi-year joint effort by the BLM and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation to improve forest health and wildlife habitat in aspen and aspen-mixed conifer stands while reducing existing fuel loads and improving fuel breaks to reduce wildfire potential.
The project area is located between South Cottonwood Creek and Beecher Creek along the BLM and U.S. Forest Service boundary in Township 32 North, Range 114 West, Sections: 7, 18, 19, 20, 21, 28, 29, and 30; and Township 33 North, Range 114 West, Sections: 29 and 32.
The EA, FONSI and DR are available for viewing at the PFO at 1625 W. Pine Street, Pinedale, Wyo. The issuance of these documents today initiates a 15-day protest period. To a file a protest, a written statement of reason must be mailed, faxed or delivered during regular business hours (7:45 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.) to:
Shane DeForest, Field Manager BLM Pinedale Field Office PO Box 768 1625 W. Pine Street Pinedale, WY 82941 Fax: 307-367-5329
