Green grass
Cheeney Landscaping of Pinedale put in new grass sod and an underground irrigation system to transform the sagebrush field north of the Museum to a grassy park area. Sublette County Road and Bridge Department helped with some of the top soil earth moving.

Beautiful new lawn
The grassy area will be used for the American Mountain Man encampment, living history demonstrations, and outdoor speakers and activities. The work is in preparation for the annual Green Rendezvous Days, always held the second full weekend in July, and for a big fur trade symposium which will be hosted by the Museum in September, 2012.

The Sublette County Historical Society has been doing extensive landscaping on the grounds at the Museum of the Mountain Man in Pinedale. Scott Cheeney, of Cheeney Landscaping of Pinedale, was hired to put in new grass sod and an underground irrigation system to transform the sagebrush field north of the Museum to a grassy park area. Sublette County Road and Bridge Department helped with some of the top soil earth moving.
The new grass should be well established for the 2011 Green River Rendezvous Days festivities which will be held July 7-10th. The grassy area will be used for the American Mountain Man living history demonstrations, mountain man encampment, guest speaker presentations, and other activities and entertainment. The landscaping is part of overall grounds upgrades for the annual Rendezvous and for a big fur trade symposium which will be hosted by the Museum of the Mountain Man in September 2012.
The Museum is open daily for the summer season through September 30th. Hours are 9:00AM to 5:00PM. Admission is $5 Adults, $4 Senior Citizens, $3 Children (6-12 years old). Sublette County residents get in for free this year (part of the ‘thank you’ to the community and Commissioners for the historic fur trade document acquisition in 2010).
