Wyoming modifies horse health certificate and temperature requirement
by Wyoming Livestock Board
June 29, 2011

The Wyoming Livestock Board (WLSB) has determined that the risk of non-resident horses exposed to EHV-1 neuropathogenic disease and entering into Wyoming has receded.

Effective immediately (June 26, 2011), Wyoming is rescinding their requirement for all horses entering the State to have an official health certificate issued within 72 hours of importation, and the horse’s temperature recorded on the certificate.

Horses entering Wyoming are now required to have an official health certificate issued within the past 30 days. Results of a negative test for Equine Infectious Anemia (EIA) completed within the past 12 months must be recorded on the health certificate by the accredited veterinarian completing the health papers. No additional statements are required.

For further questions or information, please contact the WLSB office at (307) 777-7515.
