A two-vehicle crash on Pine Street/US 191 on Friday, August 26th fortunately resulted in only one minor injury. The collision was caused by a 15-year-old female driver from Pinedale with no driver’s license who failed to yield to oncoming traffic before entering the highway, smashing into a truck, and causing the roll-over accident. According to Wyoming Highway Patrol Lieutenant Jason Green, a red dodge truck driven by 55-year old Aczael Valdez from Kennewick, Washington was going west on Pine Street around 5:30PM on Friday afternoon, August 26th. A black Denali, driven by a 15-year old juvenile, was traveling north on Madison Avenue near A to Z Hardware and Pine Creek Inn. The female underage driver failed to yield and hit the driver's rear of the red dodge truck, causing the truck to skid broadside and roll over one time.
The red dodge had one other passenger, a 20-year old male. The Yukon had two other juvenile passengers, a 12-year old and a 9-year old in the vehicle with the 15-year old driver. All the occupants were wearing seatbelts.
Responding to the scene were Wyoming Highway Patrol, Sublette County Sheriff's Department, Sublette County Fire, Sublette EMS.
Both drivers and the 20-year old passenger were taken to the Pinedale Medical Clinic by ambulance for evaluation and were then released. The 15-year old Pinedale juvenile was cited for failure to yield and no driver’s license. The accident caused blockage of traffic on Pine Street for approximately two hours.
