by Pregnancy Resource Center
August 6, 2011
On August 20th Pine Creek will be the site of the First Annual Pinedale Duck Derby to benefit the Pregnancy Resource Center (PRC). Volunteers for the event will be dumping hundreds of rubber ducks into the water to race for $1,000 cash.
The race will start at 12:00 p.m. north of American Legion Park and end at Boyd Skinner Park next to Tyler Street. The PRC will be doing duck "adoptions" at their office at 115 N. Tyler Street from now until August 18th. After that time people may adopt their ducks the morning of the race from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. Duck adoptions start at just $10.00.
"The water levels on Pine Creek have gone down, so the race will go on." said Melissa Andersen, Executive Director for the PRC. "It will be fun for people of all ages."
Pre-race activities start at 9:00 a.m. and include bouncy houses, kid’s races, food, balloon animals, and a magician.
This event is made possible with the generous support of local businesses. Event sponsors include: Rain for Rent, Sublette Insurance, Rat Pac Enterprises, Wells Fargo, Harker Paving, Mason & Mason Law Offices, Adam’s Concrete, Pinedale Dental, Rocky Mountain Home Center/Gannett Sports, and Pitchfork Fondue.
