Death Notice: Paula McNeel

Monday, September 19, 2011:
At approximately 8:00 p.m. on Saturday September 17th, the Sublette County Sheriff’s Office SCSO) received a call from the Teton County Dispatch Center reference a hiker who had discovered a body in the area of the Upper Hoback west of Bare Creek. Sublette County Sheriff Dave Lankford, Tip Top Search and Rescue (TTSAR), and a SCSO investigator responded to the scene. The body has been identified as 57-year old Paula McNeel who had been missing since August 27th.
An extensive search for Ms. McNeel began on August 28th utilizing TTSAR, ATV teams, dog teams, Sublette County’s contracted helicopter and numerous volunteers. The incident is currently under investigation by this agency and an autopsy is scheduled this week to determine cause of death.
The Sublette County Sheriff’s Office extends its condolences to the family of Ms. McNeel.
