Statewide earthquake drill Sept. 29
by Wyoming State Geological Survey
September 21, 2011
On Thursday, September 29th, at 11:00 am, the Wyoming State Geological Survey would like to invite you to participate in a statewide earthquake drill. The purpose of this drill is to encourage the public to prepare for an earthquake and to think about seismic risk. Schools, local government, and community services within the county are encouraged to participate. The "Drop, Cover, and Hold On!" drill will only take a few minutes and may just save you or a loved one during an actual earthquake.
To participate, all you need to do is "Drop, Cover, and Hold On" at the time of the "earthquake." Although Wyoming has been seismically quiet, there are several large and potentially damaging faults across the state. Do your part to be prepared!
