Three special guest speakers will give updates on Upper Green River Basin archaeology

Ultra Petroleum, Shell and QEP Energy, along with the Museum of the Mountain Man, will be sponsoring the next Upper Green River Basin Chapter of the Wyoming Archaeological Society on Tuesday, October 18th in Pinedale. Three special guest speakers will be on hand to give updates on archaeology in the Upper Green River Valley area. The event will take place between 6:30 to 8:30 PM at the Museum of the Mountain Man in Pinedale.
The Upper Green River Basin Chapter of the WAS Chapter will hold a short business meeting, then is happy to present three special guest speakers for an update on artifact preservation and key findings on the Pinedale Anticline and surrounding areas:
Mike Page, Office of the State Archaeologist
Reporting on the analysis of 2010 excavation at the Game Creek site (between Pinedale and Jackson) and the new finds of his 2011 work.
Dr. Mark Miller, Wyoming State Archaeologist
Covering Trapper’s Point near Pinedale, one of the most important archaeological sites in Sublette County.
Bill Current, Current Archaeological Research
Covering new finds discovered along the Pinedale Anticline, from historic to prehistoric.
There will be a question and answer session following the presentations.
Refreshments and appetizers will be served. Everyone welcome.
The Upper Green River Basin Chapter of the WAS meets the third Tuesday of every month, alternating between the Museum of the Mountain Man in Pinedale and the Green River Valley Museum in Big Piney.
