Scott Almdale posted more photos of the burst of color on the hillsides around Fremont Lake. "The lake with warm water has a moderating effect on temperature extremes in the area, and therefore creates a micro-climate where the fall color change occurs later than in outlying areas. I also consider the Fremont Lake region as a botanical garden, where all kinds of flora are crammed into a small area to take advantage of the warmer climate and heavier precipitation."
