Women’s Safety Challenge course offered

Registration is now open to all women in Sublette County for the Women’s Safety Challenge, a six-week course designed to empower women by increasing participants’ awareness about personal safety, teaching physical self-defense techniques, and building self-confidence.
3rd Degree Black Belt Karen Rogers will be teaching the Women’s Safety Challenge, which is open to women of all fitness and experience levels. The course will be held on Wednesdays from 5:45 pm – 7:15pm, October 19th through November 23rd, 2011. It will take place at the new Big Piney Recreation Center. Upon completion of the Women’s Safety Challenge, participants will have a chance to win one of several prizes.
The Women’s Safety Challenge is free to participants and is made possible by the Sublette County Sexual Assault/Family Violence (SAFV) Task Force, Big Piney Recreation, and Wind River Kempo Karate. Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis, with a maximum of 15 participants. To sign up, call Big Piney Recreation at 307-276-4071. The Sublette County SAFV Task Force provides confidential services to women, men, and children in Sublette County who are or have been victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and/or stalking.
