Major NWS radar upgrade begins in Riverton

The National Weather Service in Riverton is upgrading their Doppler Radar system which serves western and central Wyoming. The system is being shut down for a major radar upgrade and won’t be back online for two weeks. Radar services from that station via internet and cable or satellite providers will be unavailable during this time. Radar data from surrounding stations will continue to be available, including Billings, Cheyenne, Salt Lake City, Pocatello, Grand Junction and Rapid City.
