Pinedale Nordic Ski Grooming Report, November 26
November 26, 2011
Zero degrees today. Yesterday’s blustery weather brought perhaps an inch of snow and blew it all around. Some areas still have minimal snow depth, so please watch for rocks and be careful of your equipment. Gorgeous, "blue bird" day today – should warm up a bit.
Old Road Trail, Tree Loop, Surveyor Park, Moose Ridge, Lower Surveyor Park and Kelly Park all groomed. Classic track put in wherever possible. No track where rocks suspected. Conditions are soft and slow, making for a great workout. Skiers who bring your 4-legged friends on the trails are asked to please pick up your pet’s droppings. Dogs permitted only on the Old Road Trail, Lower Surveyor Park and Kelly Park trails.
The road is plowed to the White Pine Parking lot. No services at the lodge (White Pine is closed), however there is a new Nordic Warming Hut at the trailhead near the parking lot, which has a vaulted restroom. The CCC Pond trails won’t be groomed until December 16th due to government wildlife protection restrictions in place through Dec. 15th. Skiers can still use the trails, but they won’t be groomed until mid-December.
Plans are in place to open the golf course for grooming for skiing when there is enough snow. Watch for announcements for the opening for that area.
