Pinedale Nordic Ski Grooming Report, December 5
December 5, 2011
Another cold day – 5 degrees below zero. Dress warm.
Old Road Trail, Tree Loop, Surveyor Park, Moose Ridge, Lower Surveyor Park and Kelly Park all freshly groomed. Classic track put in wherever possible. About 1 inch of new dry powder snow. Still waiting for more snow to groom some of the other trails in the area.
Skiers who bring dogs on the trails are asked to please pick up after your pet’s droppings. Dogs permitted only on the Old Road Trail, Lower Surveyor Park and Kelly Park trails. Skiers should be aware of wildlife in the area, moose and deer, and keep their pets under control.
The road to the White Pine parking lot is plowed. No services at the lodge (White Pine is closed), however there is a new Nordic Warming Hut at the trailhead near the parking lot, which has a vaulted restroom. The CCC Pond trails won’t be groomed until December 16th due to government wildlife protection restrictions in place through Dec. 15th. Skiers can still use the trails, but they won’t be groomed until mid-December.
Plans are in place to open the golf course for grooming for skiing when there is enough snow. Watch for announcements for the opening for that area.
