Thanks, everyone! The Pinedale Community Food Basket would like to thank everyone, many groups and individuals who contributed to make bountiful food baskets available at Thanksgiving and Christmas. We were able to give turkeys and all the associated foods, even Christmas candies, because of your generosity. From your food donations, $5.00 gifts at Ridley’s, and the items you all brought in to sell in the store, we were able to provide about 10 days of food for 50 families each during each of these two months. Thanks again to the many individuals and groups who helped – we surely are a community-based group.
The Food Basket needs assistance The Pinedale Community Food Basket is looking for youth groups who would like to do a community service project. We will continue to distribute food from January through June during the third week of each month to about 50 families. At this time we can use about 8 - 12 middle school or high school young people to help us fill boxes for the distributions on Thursday evening. This takes a little less than two hours with a group (without help it takes us an interminable time!). Our timing is flexible - the kids can come in the afternoon or in the early evening on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday of the third week. Please call Bonnie Billeb at 307-231-2316 if you have a group which might be interested in this project.
There is also an occasional need for an adult to come in and help organize the storage areas, clean, do paperwork, and other tasks to keep the food program working efficiently. This would be on call, and at your convenience. Again, give Bonnie a call at the above number.
Do you have computer skills and a little spare time? Again, it would be just occasional things like forms, small posters, thank you letters, lists. It would help us complete some things we don’t always get around to doing. Call Bonnie. Thanks for considering Food Basket needs.
