Nonresident Deer, Antelope applications due March 15
by Wyoming Game & Fish
March 6, 2012
Nonresidents who would like to hunt deer and antelope in Wyoming during the 2012 hunting season are reminded that the application deadline to be included in the drawing is 5 p.m. on March 15. Deadline times are for both online and paper applications.
Hunters may apply online through the Game and Fish website at http://gf.state.wy.us or through the mail. However, due to the lateness in the application period, the Game and Fish advises hunters that applying online is the more certain method to ensure the applications will be in the office by the deadline date. Currently more than 80 percent of hunters are applying online.
Hunters are also alerted the application deadline for reduced price doe/fawn antelope and deer licenses is also March 15. Historically, most of these licenses remained after the drawing and were picked up over the counter at local license agents once the season started. However, in recent years, doe/fawn license quotas in a number of areas, especially on public lands, have been issued in the initial drawing. Hunters desiring these licenses may wish to apply in the drawing rather than taking the chance of obtaining them as leftovers.
Full-priced licenses for areas under subscribed in the drawing will be available on the Game and Fish website, Game and Fish offices, and automated license agents beginning July 10 for full-price licenses and July 17 for reduced-price licenses.
Drawing odds for the different hunt areas for 2011 can also be found on the Game and Fish website http://gf.state.wy.us. Click on hunting, then on drawing odds. Persons with additional questions on deer and antelope hunting and the application process can call (307) 777-4600 for more information.
