PAPO seeks public comments on project proposals

The Pinedale Anticline Project Office (PAPO) is accepting public comments beginning March 7 for the 16 projects that were submitted to the PAPO for potential 2012 funding.
The potential funding source for the projects is the Monitoring and Mitigation Fund which was created to mitigate potential impacts to wildlife, air and other resources identified in the Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement Record of Decision for the Pinedale Anticline Oil and Gas Exploration and Development Project. The fund is managed by the Pinedale Anticline Monitoring and Mitigation Board (Board) with assistance from the PAPO and the Bureau of Land Management.
The 16 project applications, PAPO project selection criteria and a summary list of the projects, including project applicants and requested funding amount, will be available starting March 7th at http://www.wy.blm.gov/jio-papo/papo/index.htm.
Comments must be delivered or mailed to Eric Decker, PAPO Project Coordinator, 1625 W. Pine St., P.O. Box 768, Pinedale, WY 82941 or emailed to egdecker@blm.gov no later than 4:30 p.m. on March 20.
Following the public comment period, PAPO staff will review the comments and incorporate them into final project selection recommendations to the Board. The Board will meet in Pinedale, Wyo. on May 2 and 3 and make final project funding decisions. These decisions should be posted on the PAPO website by June 5.
