Pinedale Nordic Ski Grooming Report, March 27, 2012
March 27, 2012
(Tuesday, 10:00 AM report) We have snow! Winter is not yet over! Yesterday’s storm brought about a ˝ foot of fresh snow to the ski trails. All trails above are freshly groomed. Temperature is about 37 degrees F at the Nordic building. The road is not yet plowed. Expect some ice and slushy conditions. Weather clear and nice up at the White Pine area. Should be nice skiing, but a little bit soft.
Dogs permitted only on the Old Road Trail, Lower Surveyor Park and Kelly Park trails. Skiers are asked to please pick up after your dog’s droppings.
County crews keep Skyline Drive road plowed to the White Pine Parking lot. No services at the lodge (White Pine is closed for the season), however there is a new Nordic Warming Hut with a vaulted restroom at the trailhead near the White Pine parking lot. Expect spring conditions on the road – dry at times as things melt, and slushy at times with periodic snowfall and melting with the warmer days. The White Pine parking lot is slushy in places – the better place to park is closer to the main lodge building rather than by the Nordic trailhead.
CCC Pond area trails are no longer groomed due to wildlife closures. Golf course trails have melted and are no longer available.
