Pinedale Nordic Ski Grooming Report, March 16, 2012
March 16, 2012
(Friday, 9:00AM report) CCC Ponds trails groomed for the last time of the season last night. No more grooming there due to wildlife closures. Trails above are getting pretty soft – it didn’t even freeze last night. If temperatures allow, will groom tonight for this weekend. Skyline Drive road is dry. Portions of the White Pine Ski Area road and parking lot are a bit slushy, so be cautious where you park. Recommend not using the parking lot by the Nordic Barn at White Pine, rather use the bigger area closer to the lodge to park. If you have dogs, recommend going to the Kelly Park area or park in the 1st turn out past White Pine and accessing Tree Loop and upper trails from there. The Golf Course trails are melting, with bare grass showing in more places as temperatures warm. Probably done grooming there for the season. We anticipate just a couple more weeks left to enjoy the cross-country ski season. Last year skiing pretty much ended about the first week in April.
Dogs permitted only on the Old Road Trail, Lower Surveyor Park and Kelly Park trails. Skiers are asked to please pick up after your dog’s droppings.
County crews keep Skyline Drive road plowed to the White Pine Parking lot. No services at the lodge (White Pine is closed for the season), however there is a new Nordic Warming Hut with a vaulted restroom at the trailhead near the White Pine parking lot.
