The next regular meeting of the Upper Green River Basin Chapter of the Wyoming Archaeological Society (WAS). will be held on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at 7:00 PM at the Museum of the Mountain Man in Pinedale. The group’s February meeting was cancelled due to winter weather and bad road conditions. Special guest speakers are Stephanie Bartlett and Bill Current, of Current Archaeological Research Inc. in Rock Springs talking about new finds on the Pinedale Anticline. There will also be the annual election of new officers (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer), and a discussion about opportunities for club members to help with several archaeological projects this summer. Everyone welcome. Refreshments will be served. Reminder that dues are due now for 2012. Individuals are $20. Family $25. $50 for institutions and companies. Please make checks payable to Wyoming Archaeological Society. A block of rooms has been reserved at the Best Western Tower West Lodge, and individuals attending need to make their own room reservations. Shirts are 100% heavy weight cotton and are available in aubergine, blue dusk, garnet, and black. Short sleeve shirts are $15.00 per shirt. Long sleeve are $22 each. Gray caps are $15 per cap. Aprons are $27 each. Anyone who comes to the meeting can have their shirt order put in with the club order, which will be delivered in person at the state meeting, and shirts brought back, saving the shipping charges. Make checks for shirts to "Wyoming Archaeology Month". All proceeds benefit Wyoming archaeology Awareness Month activities. Order forms will be available at the meeting, or at the link below. The Upper Green River Basin Chapter of the Wyoming Archaeological Society meets the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00PM, alternating between the Museum of the Mountain Man in Pinedale and the Green River Valley Museum in Big Piney.
