Barrasso announces re-election plans
May 30, 2012
U.S. Senator John Barrasso announced plans to seek re-election. Barrasso, an orthopedic surgeon and former State Senator, was elected in 2008 to serve the remainder of Craig Thomas’ term in the U.S. Senate after Thomas’ death in 2007. Barrasso was elected with 73% of the vote in that special election. He is seeking his first full term in the Senate. He serves on the Energy and Natural Resources Committee, the Environment and Public Works Committee, the Indian Affairs Committee and the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. He is Chairman of the Republican Policy Committee and also Chairman of the Senate Western Caucus. The Barrasso campaign will open their headquarters in Casper later this year.
