Bear cub

Mike Lillrose sent in this photo of a bear cub he took while out hunting for antler sheds near Pinedale on Tuesday, May 8th. He was hiking in a steep canyon when he heard brush crashing. He looked over to see a female black bear at a full charge. She stopped about 20 yards away. They had a short stare down, and then the bear went back into the forest. Lillrose said this was a classic black bear charge. As he began to hike out of the area, he noticed a small black bear cub in the top of a Douglas fir tree. Bears and cubs are out!
