Hunter Education duplicate cards now available online

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department has another new feature on its website. Wyoming Hunter Education Students now have the ability to print duplicate Hunter Education Certification cards online.
This new feature, which can be found by clicking the "Education" link off of the main Game and Fish home page http://wgfd.wyo.gov, will provide customers the opportunity to print or reprint a duplicate Hunter Ed card at their own convenience – on their own time, at their own home computer, as many times as needed, and at no cost.
Previously, duplicate cards were only available for a fee through a mail-in written request, or by stopping at one of the eight WGFD regional offices. For those who did not live in a city with a regional office, this was not an extremely simple, easy, or fast process – often taking up to several weeks to complete.
One of the biggest advantages of this new feature is that results are immediate. Once students have entered their information, certification cards can be printed instantly. This is a significant advantage for those who live out of state, or in a remote area, and are on a tight time-constraint for receiving their certification card.
Students will need to know exactly how their information appeared on their original certification card, or they may have difficulty finding their record. The program will only bring up the certification if the search matches exactly how the student’s info appears in the system. For example, if a student is registered as Michael, and they search for Mike, it will not find them in the system. If students do find that there is an error on their card – if there is any type of misspelling, name change, or error in date-of-birth, they are encouraged to contact the Hunter Education Office and have that corrected. Cards should reference the students "legal" name, so students are also encouraged to avoid nicknames. According to Hunter Education Administrative Specialist Margaret James, this is just another new feature offered on the new Game and Fish website, which went live earlier this year.
"The Game and Fish Department continually strives to update and improve our technology in order to provide the best customer service possible," James said. "If a customer does not have a computer or printer, cards will still be available as in the past for the $5 duplicate fee through a mail-order request, or by stopping at one of the eight regional offices."
