Editor's Note: Rich Ochs, Coordinator of the Teton County Emergency Management, sent out a media release on Thursday afternoon to let the public know that the siren activation in Teton County at approximately 3:00pm on May 10th was an accidental activation. ________________________________________
"During testing of our radio console equipment, tones were sent out that accidentally triggered siren activation county wide. Emergency Management apologizes for any confusion that this may have caused, and if you have any questions regarding our County warning/alert network, please feel free to contact me. If this were a real event, sirens throughout the County would be sounded for a 3 minute wail. At this point, we would ask citizens in the County and Town to tune to local radio stations, local TV, and NOAA All-Hazards Weather Radio for further information. Once again, this was an accidental activation and there is no emergency at this time. Thanks for your time and patience."
