July 17, 2012

The 2012 Green River Rendezvous was held July 12-14th in Pinedale. The four-day event is the highlight for Pinedale each summer, bringing people from all over the world for the first time and as a reunion of old friends year after year, just as was done in the early 1800s during the fur trade era. The event included living history programs at the Museum of the Mountain Man, American Mountain Man encampment and demonstrations, a mountain man trader’s row, street fair, rendezvous rodeos, a parade, early morning 5-mile walk/run, pancake breakfast, pie sale, 3-on-3 basketball tournament, softball tournament, disc golf tournament, annual library book sale, buffalo burger lunch, Bad Hand-Michael Terry Plains Indians encampment & talks, kids’ fishing derby and BBQ, woman’s frying pan toss, mud, volleyball tournament, Rocky Mountain Fur Trade Journal author talks, live music, fireworks, Sunday Prairie Mass and outdoor worship, beard shaving, and the elaborate annual Green River Rendezvous Pageant.
