The Bureau of Land Management Pinedale Field Office (PFO) has issued a finding of no significant impact (FONSI) and decision record (DR) for an environmental assessment (EA) of a natural gas well proposed to be drilled near Miller Mountain, about 14 miles west-southwest of the town of LaBarge in Lincoln County, Wyoming.

This gas well would be located on a federal mineral lease held by Longshot Oil, LLC, in an area the BLM has designated as the Miller Mountain Management Area.

Mitigation measures such as seasonal restrictions to protect wildlife, the minimization of visual impacts through well placement, the use of a closed loop mud system and the use of existing access roads would meet management objectives without causing undue adverse resource effects. The project, if implemented, would likely involve two to three weeks of well pad construction and three to six weeks of well drilling.
