PFAC presents Shakespeare in the Park July 19

The Pinedale Fine Arts Council is proud to present the annual "Shakespeare in the Park" on Thursday, July 19 at 6:00 p.m. in the American Legion Park (free).
Returning to Pinedale will be the award-winning Wyoming Shakespeare Festival Company who will be performing the classic Shakespearean tragedy "King Lear."
Experience Shakespeare at his most enjoyable in the beautiful park setting of the American Legion Park. Bring a picnic and bring the kids. The show is free, but donations are always welcome.
King Lear follows the story of its title character who descends into madness after foolishly disposing of his estate between two of his three daughters based on their flattery, bringing tragic consequences for all. The play is based on the legend of Leir of Britain, a mythological pre-Roman Celtic king. It has been widely adapted for the stage and motion pictures, and the role of Lear has been coveted and played by many of the world's most accomplished actors. The play was written between 1603 and 1606 is considered by many scholars to be a philosophical statement about the human condition.
The annual Shakespeare in the Park is presented by the Pinedale Fine Arts Council with support from the Wyoming Arts Council, The National Endowment for the Arts, the Town of Pinedale and the Sublette County Recreation Board.
