Wyoming hunters have reported harvesting 27 wolves in the fall wolf hunting season in the trophy game area, while another 10 animals have been taken in the predator zone. This count was current as of Monday, Oct. 29, 2012 at 2:20 p.m.
While Wyoming's trophy hunting seasons continue, similar hunts are taking place in other states. Minnesota hopes that its wolf population of 3,000 will be reduced by 700 this year, with hunters and trappers taking 400 of the animals, and the balance taken by wildlife officers in response to depredation problems.
Wisconsin officials have planned for a hunter harvest of 116 wolves in that state's hunt, which is also happening at this time.
